I am writing from the FP7 project genSET to draw your attention to the Manifesto for Integrated Action on the Gender Dimension in Research and Innovation that is available to read and sign at http://bit.ly/rLS7cn (I attach the text as well), which was presented to the EC Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science, Maire Geoghegan-Quinn on December 16th, 2011.

ANICT 2012 Registration

The ANICT Symposium 2012 will take place in Coimbra (Auditório da Reitoria de Universidade de Coimbra) on June 15th, 2012.

Ao longo dos últimos meses um pequeno grupo preparou uma reflexão que agora se apresenta em Uma Reflexão sobre a Formação e a Avaliação dos Investigadores. As propostas aqui apresentadas foram postas à apreciação de um público limitado pelo círculo de contactos dos autores recebendo-se reacções muito interessantes que agora são incluídas no documento anexo. Estas propostas vão ser discutidas e apresentadas à Senhora Sec. de Est. Leonor Parreira no dia 4/Junho/2012, no Salão Nobre da Reitoria da Universidade de Lisboa. 10ª edição das Bolsas de Investigação Científica Fundação BIAL

Tendo como objetivo incentivar a investigação centrada sobre o Homem, tanto sob os aspetos físicos como sob o ponto de vista espiritual, nomeadamente em áreas ainda pouco exploradas mas suscetíveis de profunda análise científica, a Fundação BIAL instituiu em 1994 um sistema de Bolsas de Investigação Científica. A 10ª edição dá agora lugar a abertura de um novo pacote de Bolsas.

Call for applications for the ANICT 2012 MSc fellowships

The National Association of Researchers in Science and Technology (ANICT) is now opening a call for applications for the ANICT MSc fellowships. The rules for the ANICT fellowships applications are available here. Please note that for the 2012 call some exceptions to the general rules will be enforced, namely:

• The call is open for full and associated members of ANICT that hold a PhD.
• For the evaluation of the MSc supervisor, ANICT members will only be able to introduce the top 10 original articles since 2010 (reviews will not be included).
• Each ANICT member can only submit one application.

Submission form
The submission of applications is done solely on line, using the following form. No documents will be need to submit during this stage. The candidates that are awarded the fellowships will then need to provide the documents supporting their application.

Deadlines:
Taking the date of 31st March as the first announcement of this fellowships, the 2012 call will end on the 1st of June 2012, at 17H of Lisbon time.
Eligible ANICT members need to have their  quotes up to date until the 23rd of May.

Results and Reclamations:
The results of this call will be announced during the ANICT12 symposium and latter posted on ANICT website. A períod of 5 days will be allowed for reclamations, after which the results are final.
