EMBO Young Scientists’s Forum – Lisboa – 15/16 Julho 2013

Dear ANICT members,

We would like to invite you to the EMBO Young Scientists’s Forum (YSF) on Life Sciences, which will take place on 15-16th July 2013 at IMM (grande auditório).

The EMBO YSF is aimed at bringing together young European researchers in order to motivate and inspire them to pursue their education and career in Life Sciences. After previous events in Turkey, Czech Republic, Croatia and Poland, it is now time for Portugal to host the EMBO YSF – at IMM!

This event will provide Portugal-based Masters & PhD students and Post-docs a unique opportunity to interact with members of the EMBO Young Investigator Programme (YIP). Besides listening to lectures by EMBO YIs (on diverse topics such as cell biology, development, oncobiology, immunity and infection or neusciences), the students and post-docs will present their work in two interactive poster sessions; and will have the chance to discuss the practice of doing science in Europe in informal settings such as coffee breaks, meals and a “career path” discussion. The YSF will be a packed two-day event, which will also include practical tips about scientific grant writing and the editorial process at EMBO Journal.

Registration is free but mandatory until 15th May 2013 (using the link above).
A Best Poster Award will cover travel and registration to attend the international EMBO Meeting in Amsterdam, 21-24 September 2013.

Audição junto da Comissão Parlamentar para a Educação, Ciência e Cultura

A ANICT esteve no passado dia 13 de Março na Assembleia da República numa Audição com a Comissão de Educação, Ciência e Cultura a convite desta última. O tema da Audição foi o Sistema Científico Nacional. Esteve também presente nesta Audição a ABIC. O resumo da comunicação apresentada pela ANICT está disponivel aqui. Esta apresentação foi retirada de um documento desenvolvido em 2012 e já ampamente divulgado, designado por Plano para a Excelencia na Investigação. A ANICT teve ainda a possibilidade de esclarecer várias questões apresentadas por todos os Grupos Parlamentares.

A ANICT estará ainda presente no próximo dia 22 de Março na Audição Parlamentar dos Laboratórios Associados com esta mesma Comissão Parlamentar.
