The European Union has just released the 3rd report on the situation of the researchers labor market conditions across its member states. The full report, that can be downloaded here, addresses the main obstacles found preventing the creation of an open and attractive labor market for researchers in Europe, and include:
- a lower number of research workers per active population;
- the lack of open, transparent and merit-based recruitment procedures;
- the lack of working conditions that foster the development of new research groups lead by young researchers;
- a week link between academia and industry.
The report provides plenty of statistical data of all the EU member states.
