The Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (IHMT), a higher
education and scientific research institution, within the Universidade
Nova de Lisboa (Portugal) is seeking candidates to apply jointly to
the programme WELCOME II – Promoting the return of researchers to the
European Research Area, launched by Fundação para a Ciência e
Tecnologia (FCT) as a Co-Funding Scheme supported by the Marie Curie
Action COFUND, 7th Framework Programme (FP7) of the European Commission.
The WELCOME II programme will fund the recruitment of post-doctoral
researchers nationals of any EU member state/or associated state
residing and carrying out research in a Third country (e.g. USA,
Japan, China, Australia) for at least 3 years, to be integrated in
Portuguese institutions.All the Beneficiaries of the Programme will be
recognized as Marie Curie Fellows. The deadline for application is
14th March 2011.
Welcome II Fellows, will sign a 3-year employment contract with the
host institution, comprising the researcher’s salary, mobility (only
1st year), travel allowance, research costs and host institution
overheads. More information is available
IHMT is looking to identify highly qualified and motivated
candidates able to develop excellence driven research in the areas of
Tropical medicine, Parasitology, Microbiology, International health
and Biostatistics.
